It’s the small pieces that make up the big picture…

…and we need you in our picture!

Since our humble beginnings 40 years ago, Portland Columbia Symphony has come to play a critical role in the community for audiences, families, and musicians alike. Only with the financial support of people like you can PCSO continue to:

• keep ticket prices low and affordable
• perform in comfortable, convenient, venues
• provide competitive creative jobs for some of the best musicians the Portland area has to offer
• explore music that most symphonies don’t, like pieces by local, living, and under-represented composers
• introduce the joys of orchestral music to kids and families
• build and reach audiences in both Portland and East County, as the only orchestra to serve the Gresham community
• explore new ways to connect with one another during the COVID-19 pandemic

At PCSO, every drop in the bucket counts. Perhaps you’d like to show your appreciation with $10, or maybe you’d like to make an easy, hassle-free monthly contribution; or perhaps you’d like to sponsor your favorite musician’s chair! Learn more about just how far your gift can go.

No matter what, you’ll rest assured knowing that your gift is both felt and valued deeply here at Portland Columbia Symphony.

No gift is too small to support local kids, musicians, and community in a BIG way.

…no matter how you do the numbers!

$10 – “Uplift our Community” video project
Whether fun, funny, or just plain good, this new video series, launched to uplift our community during the pandemic, has illustrated the endless talent and creativity of our players. Ten gifts of $10 pays a PCSO musician to create a totally unique installment, like this one, and this one.

$25 – Connects PCSO with 4,000 people
Talk about a return on investment! Just $25 connects our engaging social media content with more than 4,000 people in our community. What better way to get our name out there?

$50 – PCSO “Give-Back” volunteer day
We believe that a thriving musical ecosystem requires that arts organizations look out for each other through advocacy, mentorship, and volunteerism. Just three gifts of $50 supports sending PCSO staff to give two hours of time in support of a peer organization or worthy cause on company time.

$100Virtual performances for the entire world to watch
During the pandemic, we’re livestreaming performances by PCSO chamber ensembles in virtual concerts that are free to the entire public. Five gifts at this level covers over half of the audio engineer’s fee.

$150 – Duet experience for music students and PCSO players
Devastating school closures have caused the suspension of orchestra and band programs. One gift at this level creates the opportunity for a high school student to build listening, blending, and ensemble skills by playing duets with a PCSO player via video recording.

$500 Sponsor a musician’s chair!
Support the musicians you love! One gift of $500 helps pay for the costs of a section musician’s music rental, paycheck, and more. You can even co-sponsor a chair with a friend or family member! As your connection to the orchestra deepens, you’ll also receive acknowledgment on their bio page and the undying love of the musician you’re supporting. (Principal and Section Sponsorships also available).
